Easy Way To Suck Your Own

These days there are quite a stir in the American Zen community, due to the discovery that many "teachers" Zen have had sex with his students, being married men, and presumably taking advantage of the power exerted over them.

In Japanese Zen, the position of "teacher" is very important, so much so that many people claim that Zen can not practice without a teacher (erh. .. guilty). Students have private interviews with their teachers, who act as guides to practice, and spend time together. In this context, it is logical to generate sexual attraction and emotional chaos that things a bit. But it is also true that the teacher-student relationship is not equal: the teacher has power over the student. And as in all relationships power, the temptation to abuse it is very large.

Total, that I was telling this to my friends the other day (yes, I give them about things Buddhist cake), and one said, "Wow, Paul, but is that cos of the gurus is not new , man. " He is right. It's just, in my little world Buddhist, I never stopped to think so. But this kind of teacher-student relationship is one that causes the appearance of gurus. Gurus "in Buddhism? Does anyone else think that the world has gone mad?

Buddhism is to experience the "truth" for yourself, not to worship any teacher. There is no guide to the Buddha, there is no guide to teaching. People who take time along the way we help and give advice, so called "spiritual friends" (kalyānamitta), but what teacher? What on earth is going to teach you a Zen master? How will you see inside?

And more "sad" part is that instead of asking the teacher this makes no sense, Americans do nothing but ruminate on how to control these teachers, how to punish, how to prevent spend more things like this ... Zen is a church seeking ways to conserve. How ironic.
Inspiring
